MEALS-ON-WHEELS - Volunteers are requested to help give driving directions for Meals-On-Wheels Thursday, November 27 from 7:30-9:00 a.m.) at Cretin Dehram Hall High School. (C shift getting off duty and “A” shifting working.) Volunteers assist those drivers who request help with directions for delivering meals to St. Paul neighborhoods primarily.

Local 1014 has been included on a task force of Labor, Management and County Officials to accomplish a few things related to recruitment, testing and integrity of all systems.
Coquitlam Firefighters donate 10 pints of blood in less than a month! 11/19/14 - International Association of Firefighters Local 1782
By the end of September, Canada’s blood inventory had reached a critically low level. We asked all our PFL partners across the country to help and they responded by bringing in 21,033 units in October, that’s amazing!
So far Coquitlam Firefighters- IAFF Local 1782 - has collected 10 units towards your annual pledge of 50*.

Fire Fighters Stress Cooking Safety on Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving is leading day for home cooking fires
Tavares, Florida - According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), cooking is the leading cause of home fires on Thanksgiving Day. A cooking fire is three times more likely on Thanksgiving than on any other day of the year.

Support the Burn Center 11/17/14 - Local 2580
With your help, the 2014 CHFFA Guns & Hoses Tournament raised $2,500 for the NC Jaycees' Burn Center. Those funds were earmarked for the 2015 Adult Burn Survivor Reunion.
However, an unmet need has since been identified. Many Burn Center patients & families will remain hospitalized during Thanksgiving & Christmas.

November 25th and 26th we will once again be "holding the boot" for MDA. A lot of volunteers are necessary for this to happen each year, and MDA relies on each of you to volunteer a few hours for this great cause. CHICAGO — On Sept. 4, 1979, three young men joined the Chicago Fire Department ranks without having any idea that each of them in their own way would leave indelible marks on the job they loved. After graduating from the fire academy, Jose Santiago, Dan Fabrizio and Steve Chikerotis were reunited on the “flying” Rescue Squad 2 — then the busiest firefighting team in the department, charged with making some of the scariest rescues their city could muster. This month, two of them — Fabrizio and Chikerotis — retired from active duty after 35 years.
